Reliance to invest Rs 65,000 cr to set up 500 CBG plants in Andhra Pradesh

Reliance Industries announced a ₹65,000 crore investment to set up 500 Compressed Biogas (CBG) plants in Andhra Pradesh. The initiative will utilize 500,000 acres of barren land in Prakasam, Anantapur, Chittoor, and Kadapa. Once operational, the plants are expected to generate 4 million tonnes of green CBG and 1.1 million metric tonnes of organic fertilizer annually.

Andhra Pradesh’s first Reliance Compressed Bio-Gas (CBG) plant has been inaugurated in Kanigiri, Prakasam district with an investment of Rs. 139 crores. This initiative aims to establish 500 projects across the state, boosting local economies, reducing chemical fertiliser usage, and transforming barren lands into fertile farmland, thereby supporting farmers.
