Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL) has appointed Sanjay Khanna, the current director of refineries, as the chairman and managing director. Khanna, a chemical engineer with extensive experience in refinery operations and project management, has held key positions within BPCL, including heading the Kochi and Mumbai refineries.

The government has prolonged the order for power plants using imported coal. These plants must operate at full capacity until June 30. This decision ensures enough power during rising demand. The plants contribute significantly to India’s power capacity. The extension aims to meet the expected peak demand of 270 GW in June.

Jet fuel prices in Delhi have been reduced by 4.4%, marking the second cut in a month, alongside a Rs 14.50 decrease in commercial LPG cylinder prices. These reductions offset earlier price increases, influenced by softening international oil prices due to concerns over global trade and demand. Domestic LPG rates remain unchanged, while petrol and diesel prices are frozen.
